This interactive map provides a virtual tour of carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects around the world. Here you will find information on large-scale projects - operating and planned - which capture, transport and store at least 500,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year. Smaller scale but significant pilot projects, from capture and storage to full-chain CCS, also feature.

How does the map work?

Use the zoom and radio buttons to explore the world of CCS. Find out more about a project by clicking on its coloured dot. Zoom in close to reveal all the projects in busier areas of the map. You can refine your search by choosing a different radio button in the top right hand corner. For example, select capture projects only or view sources of CO₂ emissions.

How accurate is this map?

This map is regularly updated with independently gathered, compiled and assessed project information and developments. As such, it does not represent the views of project developers, industry, government or other organisations. While every effort is made to keep it as up-to-date as possible, CCS is a rapidly changing field. If you find something that needs updated, please let us know - info@sccs.org.uk.
